Hi!  I’m Teddy!

I am currently a Grade 12 student at TanenbaumChat.  I have been tutoring since grade 9 as a virtual math tutor as part of my community involvement.  As the demand increased, I branched out by tutoring math in person privately and included English and Science.  I also work as a math tutor at Mathnasium.  I recently started this website to make booking easier as I got really busy this year.  I hope to continue tutoring as I attend university and this website will facilitate scheduling.

Notable Achievements

1

Schulich Leader Nominee

"Schulich Leader Scholarships are the largest and most prestigious undergraduate Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) scholarships in Canada". Every high school in Canada can nominate one graduating student per academic year. I was this year's Schulich Leader Nominee at TanenbaumChat.

2

International Weizmann Physics Tournament Eastern Canada Finalist

This is a competition where students work in teams to build safes that can be opened by successfully solving physics puzzles, and then work to try and use their physics knowledge to crack into other teams' safes. My group came in first place for Eastern Canada.  We will compete in the Finals at the end of March 2026.

Holland Bloorview Volunteer

I volunteer at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital.  I have had a connection with this Hospital in various ways and for many years.  My siblings and I all went to Play and Learn which is the Preschool affiliated with the Hospital.  In Grade 5, I did my Project Giveback on this Hospital in order to raise awareness.  I continue to have a connection here by volunteering.  First with the Heroes Martial Arts program and then with the Robotics program.

Completed the Royal Conservatory of Music Level 8 Certificate in Piano

I started playing piano when I was about 4 years old. Playing piano and taking exams at the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) requires daily practicing, playing and learning over many years.  Obtaining the Level 8 Certificate means I passed both the Grade 8 Piano exam as well as the Grade 8 Theory Exam.  Both of these together means I received the Level 8 Certificate.

Volunteer Piano Player

I thought of taking the skills I learned playing piano and use them to bring joy to people.  During the winter, in Grades 11 & 12, I go to Pine Villa once a week.  There I play piano for the clients.  I play song requests and old favourites.  "Pine Villa is a supportive transitional care site providing short-term services for older adults who no longer require care in a hospital. Clients are there while waiting to move home with community supports or while awaiting placement in a long-term care facility or another care setting".

7

Volunteer Tutor

Helping my community is very  important to me and I do this in many ways.  I have been a volunteer tutor since Grade 9.  First I started with Youth 4 Youth.  Then in Grade 10 I started tutoring with Learn To Be.  I am currently tutoring the same student who I started helping in Grade 10.  I have also expanded to tutor privately and recently started this website to help with bookings as I became busier in Grade 12.

4

Deca

"DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe".  I have been in Deca since Grade 9.

I received Deca awards for  regionals in Grades 10 & 11.  I made provincials in Grades 10,11 & 12.  This year one of my students made international.  As well, I helped start a new category and 73% of my students made provincials.

Volunteer Baker and Sandwich Maker for the Homeless

I have been making cookies and sandwiches since Middle School for my community.  Since Grade 9, the organization that I have been baking and preparing for is Ve'ahavta.  They promote positive change in people who have been marginalized by poverty.  I have  made thousands of cookies and sandwiches over the years to help this organization.  Ve'ahavta has "outreach vans that go out to the community every night to deliver food, clothing and supplies to people facing homelessness across the GTA".
